This site is located about 10 mile west of downtown Las Vegas in the Sun City Summerlin subdivision. We are about 1000 feet higher then the strip and close to Lake Mead and I-215 highway.
Information is collected with a Davis Vantage Pro 2 Plus weather station at 1 minutes intervale to a Dell Computer and is then up loaded to Internet web site every 15 minutes. The data is also uploaded to Weather Underground every 15 seconds.


The ISS is the remote sensor station which collects temperature,humidity,rain,UV,and Solar information. There is also a another transmitter for wind speed and direction. These stations are solar powered with battery backup.


The computer is a Dell 2400 Celeron CPU 2.20 GHZ, 1.00 GB of ram. It is backed up with the APC 1500 which gives about 1 hour of power to update the server, cable modem, and router. There is also a Labjack for Koi pond, spa temperture, and lightening detector. The computer is running Weather Display which collects all the information and then uploads to the host server. It also creates graphs and store all the records for the weather. Weather Display can create its own web page, and can be run as a stand alone program.
